What you see below is me, working out. Less than a decade ago, that never would have happened.
I have been overweight or obese most of my adult life. When I hit the milestone age of 50, I decided to do something about it, and I set about changing my eating habits. I ate more fruits and vegetables and less soda, fried and fast foods, and it worked.
Still in my 50s, I’ve lost 65 pounds and have about 40 to 50 more to go, depending on who you talk to and what chart you’re looking at. It was hard losing the first 65, but this is even harder. Changes in life and needing fewer calories now than I did at 50 have had a real impact on my rate of weight loss; it is way slower.
I hope you will come on this journey with me as I talk about food, workouts and recipes, and give you reasons to keep going, even when it seems hopeless. I’ll blog every Monday on this site. I’ll write about eating and how it relates to health and our lives.
On my Facebook page you’ll see tips, and links to interesting articles and studies, plus some surprises.
Thanks for joining me. Enjoy the ride. And most important, be healthy and live a long life.
